GRAND OPENING OF RESTAURANT ATEMPO AT THE MIRROR, BARCELONA

Restaurant Atempo, opened in January 2017 at The Mirror Barcelona Hotel.

Chef Jordi Cruz (3-star Michelin) offers a varied gastronomic proposal that ranges from simple classic recipes to more complex creations to delight our diners.

Atempo is a bistró inspired by the classic “film noir” cinema from the 20’s, with the setting based on real life-size characters. The staff, all dressed in black, with a tie, white suspenders and vintage hats, reinforce an atmosphere that brings us to Chicago, where the mafia and Al Capone were the main characters.

The design follows the concept created by Chef Jordi Cruz, which refers to the traditional Bistró and where classic dishes of international cuisine will be offered.

The restaurant respects the hotels design, where the white details in the different materials is multiplied in a universe of mirrors. Also, the kitchen is a see-through panoramic space, allowing visitors to see the team at work.

A complete and large wine cellar is on-site, with a wine list selected by our sommeliers and which are associated as appropriate accompaniments to each one of the dishes from the menu. They can be tasted per glass or by the bottle. The restaurant has a capacity of 50 diners and offers a warm, informal and up-close service, complimented by a jazz band.

The team includes: Michelin starred Chef Jordi Cruz as the head and Quim Gabarró as Head Chef, with a team of professionals trained in the kitchens of ABaC Restaurant, offers brand new options.

This modern and casual bistro offers great classic recipes from Spain and dishes from around the world, all under the gaze of the creative filter of Chef Cruz. It is a gastronomic space designed to satisfy customers every day of the week, with different proposals; whether it is a simple aperitif, a small tasting, a complete dinner a la carte or half servings.

One of the great attractions of Atempo is that each dish is associated with a number that matches the number of the wines suitable for pairing. This is why one may order a glass for each dish or simply choose a bottle off the wine list.

Some of the dishes include: Lulo and oyster ceviche with fresh fish from the market, "Burgués" rice, tuna cheek bourguignon with Parmentier, Mediterranean prawns and vanilla chickpea purée, wild hare à la royale with Japanese mustard, torrija-cum-frangipane brioche and raw and toasted almonds, and Pavlova cum pink panther with forest fruits.

Open daily, including public holidays.

Opening Hours: 13:30 – 15:30 and 20:30 – 23:00
